The Department of Physics is located in the Scientific Campus of the University of Florence in via G. Sansone 1, Sesto Fiorentino (FI)

The Campus is located near the airport of Florence, in the municipality of Sesto Fiorentino, along the Florence-Prato line.

How to reach the Campus - PLANE

There are three airports use to reach the Pole:

1. Florence Airport "Amerigo Vespucci"

It is located close to the Scientific Centre and about 8 km from the center of Florence.

It is connected with the main Italian cities and the major European capitals. To reach directly the Polo you can walk 15 minutes and take the bus n. 66 or cross the street, take bus 29 and then 66 or take a taxi (rather expensive). To reach the center of town you can take advantage of a shuttle bus service "flying bus".

2. Pisa airport "Galileo Galilei"

It is located about 80 km west of Florence and connected with national and international flights. A bus service (terravision) connects the airport of Pisa, the station of Florence Santa Maria Novella and Florence airport. E 'can also reach the station of Pisa (service bus, shuttle or on foot - about 15 minutes) and then take a train to Florence or Firenze SMN Rifredi

3. Bologna Airport "G. Marconi"

It is located about 100 km north of Florence and connected with national and international flights. A bus service (appenninoshuttle) connects the airport of Bologna and Firenze Santa Maria Novella. Buses also stop in Calenzano (motorway exit), quite close to the Scientific Centre (you can get to the pole using the train - Pratignone stop and then get off at Zambra, or take bus no. 2 to the station of Sesto Fiorentino and then the bus n. 66 to the Scientific Pole). Alternatively you can use the city bus to get to the Bologna train station and then take the train (EuroStar) to Florence, or a regional train to Prato and then a local train and get off at Sesto Fiorentino or Zambra.

How to reach the Campus - BY TRAIN

Florence is situated on the main railway Directive Italian (Milan-Bologna-Florence-Rome), which is served by frequent trains EuroStar (ES) and Intercity / EuroCity (IC / EC). The most important train station in Florence is Firenze Santa Maria Novella (often abbreviated to "Firenze SMN") and is located in the city center. Because to get to the pole there is a direct bus (59) from the station of Florence Rifredi, if possible down there. E 'can also use the station of Sesto Fiorentino, connected via bus 66 with the Polo. Finally you can take a local train on the Florence-Sesto-Prato and get off at Zambra, and from there walk 10 minute walk or take the bus 66.

How to reach the Pole - CAR

From outside Florence

Coming from the North (Milan) or South (Rome) exit at Firenze Nord, Autostrada del Sole (A1); follow the signs to the city center (A11) up and take the exit of Sesto Fiorentino; turn around the roundabout in Via del Cantone, take the underpass and continue for "Sesto Fiorentino Centro", passing on Via dell'Osmannoro and following the directions of the "Polo Scientifico" on the right.

Or exit at Calenzano, go around the roundabout with a big wheel in the center, proceed for 1 km and then turn right and follow the signs "Polo Scientifico"

From the city of Florence

Take direction Sesto Fiorentino. Take Via Reginaldo Giuliani, continue for Viale Gramsci (Sesto Fiorentino) to the gates of Sesto Fiorentino; do the roundabout and turn left in Viale dei Mille, (from there follow the signs to the Scientific Centre), to the underpass, turn right and follow Viale Ariosto to the roundabout, take the roundabout going left and go straight for 2 km until the left turn of the Scientific Pole.

Or, going towards Firenze / Mare (A11) and the Airport of Peretola, follow the signs for Sesto Fiorentino, and the indications 'Scientific Centre' follow Via dell'Osmannoro and turn right at the sign 'Scientific Centre', entrance from Viale delle Idee.

How to reach the Pole - BY BUS

LINE 57: Luggage station S.M.N. up to stop and then walk 5 minutes PASOLINI

The ATAF tickets are sold at bars, tobacconists, newsagents displaying the logo ATAF. And 'advisable to buy them before boarding the car although they can also be purchased on board, at a higher price. You can pay for the ticket via SMS

Il Dipartimento di Fisica si trova all'interno del Polo Scientifico dell'Università di Firenze in via G. Sansone 1, Sesto Fiorentino (FI)

Il polo si trova vicino all'aeroporto di Firenze, nel comune di Sesto Fiorentino, lungo la direttrice Firenze-Prato.

Come raggiungere il Polo - IN AEREO

Ci sono tre aeroporti utilizzabili per raggiungere il Polo:

1. Aeroporto di Firenze "Amerigo Vespucci"

Si trova nelle immediate vicinanze del Polo Scientifico ed a circa 8 km dal centro di Firenze.

È collegato con le principali città italiane e con le maggiori capitali europee.

Per raggiungere direttamente il Polo si può camminare 15 minuti e prendere il bus n. 66 oppure attraversare la strada, prendere il bus 29 e poi il 66.

oppure prendere un TAXI (piuttosto caro). Per raggiungere il centro della città si può usufruire di un servizio di pulman navetta "vola in bus".

2. Aeroporto di Pisa "Galileo Galilei"

È situato a circa 80 km ad Ovest di Firenze e collegato con voli nazionali ed internazionali. Un servizio di bus (terravision) collega l'aeroporto di Pisa, la stazione di Firenze Santa Maria Novella e l'aeroporto di Firenze. E' possibile anche raggiungere la stazione di Pisa (servizio autobus urbano, navette o anche a piedi -- circa 15 minuti) e poi prendere un treno per Firenze Rifredi o Firenze S.M.N.

3. Aeroporto di Bologna "G. Marconi"

È situato a circa 100 km a Nord di Firenze e collegato con voli nazionali ed internazionali. Un servizio di bus (appenninoshuttle) collega l'aeroporto di Bologna e la stazione di Firenze Santa Maria Novella. I bus fermano anche a Calenzano (uscita autostrada), abbastanza vicino al Polo Scientifico (si può arrivare al polo usando il treno - fermata Pratignone e poi scendere a Zambra, oppure prendere il bus n. 2 fino alla stazione di Sesto Fiorentino e poi il bus n. 66 fino al Polo Scientifico). Alternativamente si può usare il bus urbano per raggiungere la stazione di Bologna e prendere poi il treno (EuroStar) per Firenze, oppure un treno regionale per Prato e quindi un treno locale e scendere a Sesto Fiorentino o Zambra.

Come raggiungere il Polo - IN TRENO

Firenze è situata sulla principale direttiva ferroviaria italiana (Milano-Bologna-Firenze-Roma) che è servita da frequenti treni EuroStar (ES) o Intercity/Eurocity (IC/EC). La stazione ferroviaria più importante di Firenze è Firenze Santa Maria Novella (spesso abbreviata in "Firenze SMN") ed è situata nel centro della città. Dato che per raggiungere il polo esiste un bus diretto (59) dalla stazione di Firenze Rifredi, se possibile scendere lì. E' anche possibile utilizzare la stazione di Sesto Fiorentino, collegata via bus 66 con il Polo. Infine si può prendere un treno locale sulla tratta Firenze-Sesto-Prato e scendere a Zambra, e da lì camminare 10 minuti a piedi o prendere il bus 66.

Come raggiungere il Polo - IN AUTO

Da fuori Firenze

Proveniendo da nord (Milano) o da sud (Roma) uscire all'uscita Firenze Nord dell'Autostrada del Sole (A1); seguire le indicazioni per il centro città (A11) fino e imboccare l'uscita di Sesto Fiorentino; girare attorno alla rotonda di Via del Cantone, percorrere il sottopasso dell'autostrada e proseguire per Sesto Fiorentino Centro, transitando su Via dell'Osmannoro e seguendo le indicazioni del Polo Scientifico sulla destra.

Oppure uscire all'uscita Calenzano, girare intorno alla rotonda con una grande ruota al centro, procedere per 1 km e quindi girare a destra seguendo le indicazioni "Polo Scientifico"

Dalla città di Firenze

Prendere la direzione Sesto Fiorentino. Percorrere Via Reginaldo Giuliani, proseguire per Viale Gramsci (Sesto Fiorentino) fino alle porte di Sesto Fiorentino; fare la rotonda e girare a sinistra nel Viale dei Mille, (da qui seguire le indicazioni per il Polo Scientifico), fare il sottopassaggio, girare a destra e seguire Viale Ariosto fino alla rotonda, percorrere la rotonda andando a sinistra e proseguire dritto per 2 km fino all'indicazione di svolta a sinistra del Polo Scientifico.

Oppure, andando verso la Firenze/Mare (A11) e l'Areoporto di Peretola, seguire le indicazioni per Sesto Fiorentino, e poi le indicazioni 'Polo Scientifico' proseguire per Via dell'Osmannoro e girare a destra al Cartello 'Polo Scientifico', entrata da Viale delle Idee.

Come raggiungere il Polo - IN AUTOBUS

- LINEA 57: Deposito bagagli stazione S.M.N. fino a fermata PASOLINI e quindi camminare 5 minuti
- LINEA 59: Stazione Firenze Rifredi fino a fermata SANSONE
- LINEA 66: Stazione di Sesto Fiorentino, fino a fermata SANSONE
- LINEA 23: Stazione S.M.N. fino a fermata PANCIATICHI01 e poi linea 59
